Our school is taking part in a cultural exchange with a school from Taiwan. We have exchange some emails back and forth and now we will exchange some packages to learn and see more about each other's culture! We received our first package from Taiwan and we had so much fun learning, seeing, and even tasting some things from Taiwan!
We got to enjoy a festive day of activities before our Christmas break! We decorated vegan sugar cookies, learned how to make snowflakes and a candy cane bead art, got to eat yummy snacks and play a fun white elephant gift exchange game! Thank you for all who helped, provided things for the day and have a wonderful holiday! Each class got the chance to give back to our community or church family for the Christmas season! Mrs. Adam's class went to the Tipton nursing home where they got to sing songs, visit and bring a little Christmas cheer and many smiles to the faces of the residents. Miss K.'s class worked hard to make fleece no sew blankets, christmas cookies, and cards to deliver to some of our church family members! Miss K.'s class has been busy this week making cookies and making no tie fleece blankets! We are planning on going out next week to visit elderly members to our church to give them some Christmas blessings! To celebrate or reading goals from October, we had a fun outing to BounceU today! The kids had fun and wore out their energy from all the bouncing! We were then bless with pizza for lunch! I'd say it was a very successful field trip! We are blessed to have the IA, Indiana Academy, students putting on our week of prayer for us! Our theme this week is about Trusting in God! We are busy at school each and every day! In Miss K.'s class, we have been working on our bridge projects; designing and testing out our designs, learning how to present information to our classmates through skits and jigsaw learning stations! Thanksgiving is upon us and it's a time to reflect on all the things we have been blessed with in our life. CAES hosted our annual Thanksgiving Banquet program this year. The quote goes and still remains, "many hands make light work." This program came together because of our beloved church members, parents, and families! God has truly blessed us beyond what we even know. The students gave the story of the first thanksgiving, read some very good poems, performed the chimes and handbells, read thankful acrostic poems and sang a song called Thankful. The songs reminds us in a beautiful way that if we could count our blessings to 100 or a thousand, that there would still be more blessings God gives to us each and every day! We have been busy this week! We got a new 8th grader, making cards, having fun outside and learning lots of things in fun ways. Here is a little bit of what we have been up to! Here are some pictures of our students this week! |
